Joe Sasarak's work can be traced back to his own personal history and experiences, yet rather than being personal symbols, it is a product of a collective memory that he shares with the viewer. Through sculpture, painting, and photography, he examines the psychology of space and the ideas of self and other, queer identity, desire, love, loss, sanctuary and transcendence.
